Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Peanut Butter Bars featuring a buttery graham cracker base layered with smooth peanut butter and topped with a rich chocolate coating. Perfect for a sweet treat or dessert.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Base

  • 3/4 cup butter melted
  • 2 cups graham crackers crushed
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Topping

  • 2 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper, ensuring it fully covers the bottom and sides to allow easy removal of the bars later.
  2. Mix base ingredients: Using a stand mixer or hand-held mixer, combine the melted butter, powdered sugar, and crushed graham crackers thoroughly until evenly mixed.
  3. Add peanut butter to base: Mix in 1 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter into the graham cracker mixture until well incorporated and smooth.
  4. Form base layer: Evenly spread the peanut butter mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing it down firmly and smoothing the surface.
  5. Prepare chocolate topping: In a heat-safe bowl, combine the semi sweet chocolate chips with the remaining 3 tablespoons of creamy peanut butter. Heat in 30 second intervals, stirring well after each, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
  6. Top the bars: Spread the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture evenly over the peanut butter base layer in the baking dish.
  7. Chill: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator and chill the bars for 1 hour to set completely.
  8. Serve: Remove the bars and let them sit at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes to soften slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For easier slicing, warm the knife slightly or run it under hot water and dry before cutting the bars.
  • You can substitute semi sweet chocolate chips with milk or dark chocolate chips based on preference.
  • Store leftover bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • To make the recipe gluten free, use gluten free graham crackers.
  • Ensure the peanut butter is creamy for best texture in both layers.
