Ingredients
Scale
Hot Honey Sauce
- 80g / 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tsp hot sauce (Frank’s or Cholula recommended)
- 1/2 tsp chilli flakes (adjust to taste)
Pizza Base and Toppings
- 2 garlic flatbreads (approx. 210g each, 24x18cm size)
- 130g / 1/2 cup pizza sauce (thick variety)
- 180g / 2 cups low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- 12 slices pepperoni
- Sliced black olives (optional)
- Fresh jalapeños (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 220C/430F and place the oven tray inside to heat up, ensuring the base of your pizzas will crisp nicely.
- Prepare Hot Honey: Combine honey, hot sauce, and chilli flakes in a bowl. Warm gently in the microwave for 10-20 seconds or simmer briefly on the stove, then stir and allow to cool to infuse flavors.
- Assemble Pizzas: Spread each flatbread evenly with pizza sauce. Top with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, jalapeños, and olives if using. Add a few extra mozzarella pieces on top of pepperoni to prevent curling while baking.
- Bake Pizzas: Remove the hot tray from the oven carefully and place the assembled pizzas directly on it. Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly charred and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Finish and Serve: Drizzle the baked pizzas generously with the prepared hot honey sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy the sweet and spicy flavors.
Notes
- Heating honey before mixing helps chilli flakes infuse more quickly; adjust spiciness by adding extra chilli flakes or hot sauce after cooling if desired.
- Choose flatbreads around 210g and 24x18cm size for best results; adjust toppings and baking time for different sizes.
- Use thick pizza sauce to avoid soggy bases; if needed, simmer store-bought sauce to thicken before using.
- Freshly grate mozzarella for meltier texture or use pre-grated; pat dry mozzarella in brine to reduce moisture.
- Preheating the oven tray crisps the flatbread bottom and helps support the toppings.
- Calories are estimated per pizza if all honey is used.
