Description

A festive and refreshing Hocus Pocus Blueberry Blackberry Mocktail perfect for Halloween celebrations, featuring fresh berries, blueberry juice, a hint of cinnamon, and agave syrup for natural sweetness, served chilled with crushed ice and garnished with fresh fruit and rosemary.

Ingredients

Scale

Mocktail Base

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 2 cups organic blueberry juice
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup agave syrup
  • ¼ cup freshly-squeezed lemon juice

Toppings

  • Crushed ice
  • Fresh blueberries
  • Fresh blackberries
  • Rosemary sprigs
  • Edible Halloween decor (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the berries: In a bowl, combine the fresh blueberries, fresh blackberries, and freshly-squeezed lemon juice. Mull (crush) the mixture thoroughly until the fruit is fully broken down and juicy.
  2. Mix the mocktail base: Add the filtered water, organic blueberry juice, a pinch of ground cinnamon, and agave syrup to the crushed berries. Stir everything until well combined and the mixture appears a rich, dark color.
  3. Assemble the mocktails: Fill glasses with crushed ice. Spoon 3 to 4 tablespoons of the mulled berry mixture into the bottom of each glass. Pour ½ cup of the mocktail liquid mixture over the berries, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
  4. Garnish and serve: Add fresh blueberries, fresh blackberries, and a rosemary sprig to each glass as garnish. For a fun Halloween presentation, decorate with edible Halloween-themed items like edible eyeballs or spiders.
  5. Enjoy: Serve immediately chilled and sip your festive mocktail to celebrate the season!

Notes

  • You can substitute agave syrup with honey or simple syrup if preferred.
  • Using fresh, high-quality organic blueberry juice will enhance the flavor and color of the drink.
  • For a more intense berry flavor, let the crushed berry mixture sit for 10 minutes before mixing with the other ingredients.
  • This mocktail can be prepared a few hours ahead; keep chilled and stir before serving.
  • To keep it diabetic-friendly, reduce or omit the agave syrup and add a sugar substitute if desired.
