Description

This Halloween Pizza Dip is a fun and spooky appetizer perfect for Halloween parties. It combines a creamy, cheesy chicken dip with a pizza dough crust shaped like a monster face, filled with cheddar cheese-stuffed dough balls baked until golden and bubbly.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dip

  • 250 g boiled and shredded chicken
  • 50 g mozzarella grated
  • 70 g cheddar grated
  • 120 ml ranch sauce
  • 250 g cream cheese
  • 240 ml ketchup
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

For the Dough

  • 1 ready-made pizza dough 400 g (~1 lb)
  • 150 g cheddar cheese cut into cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven Preheat your oven to 200° C (392° F) to prepare for baking the dough and the final assembly.
  2. Prepare the Dip In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, grated mozzarella, grated cheddar, ranch sauce, cream cheese, and ketchup. Season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands wearing disposable gloves until fully combined and evenly mixed.
  3. Shape the Dough Features On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough using a rolling pin. Using a knife, cut out shapes for the monster’s eyes, nose, and mouth.
  4. Bake Dough Features Transfer these cut-out dough pieces onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove and set aside for the final assembly.
  5. Prepare Dough Balls Take the remaining dough and divide it into 16 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small ball. Place a cube of cheddar cheese in the center of each ball, then carefully close the dough around the cheese to seal it inside.
  6. Assemble in Skillet Arrange the cheddar-filled dough balls around the edge of a large ovenproof skillet, leaving space in the center for the dip. Spread the prepared dip mixture evenly in the center space.
  7. Bake the Assembly Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 35 minutes until the dough balls are golden brown and the dip is hot and bubbly.
  8. Final Decoration and Serve Remove the skillet from the oven and place the baked dough pieces of the monster’s eyes, nose, and mouth on top to complete the monster face. Serve hot and enjoy your spooky Halloween treat.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream cheese with yogurt for a lighter dip.
  • Ensure the cheddar cheese cubes are sealed well inside the dough balls to prevent cheese leakage while baking.
  • Use disposable gloves when mixing the dip to keep hands clean and for easier mixing.
  • For a spicier twist, consider adding a pinch of chili flakes or hot sauce to the dip mixture.
  • This recipe works well as an appetizer or snack for Halloween parties and gatherings.
