Instructions
- Combine Fruit and Nuts: In a large bowl, mix together the raisins, candied cherries, candied pineapple, Brazil nuts, and half of the flour until well combined.
- Cream Shortening and Sugar: In a separate bowl, cream the golden Crisco shortening and white sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and creamy.
- Add Egg and Flavoring: Beat the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract into the creamed shortening and sugar mixture until fully incorporated.
- Mix Ingredients: Gradually stir in the fruit and nut mixture along with the remaining flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until everything is well blended.
- Scoop Dough: Using a 1-inch cookie scoop, drop dough balls onto parchment paper-lined or greased baking sheets, spacing them evenly apart.
