Description

Enjoy a zesty and refreshing Dill Pickle Margarita made with silver tequila, dill pickle juice, and lime, perfectly rimmed with Tajín and garnished with a pickle spear. This cocktail balances tangy, salty, and sweet flavors for a unique twist on the classic margarita.

Ingredients

Scale

Rim and Garnish

  • 1 (25 g) pickle spear
  • 2 tsps. (6 g) Tajin seasoning
  • 1½ cups (180 g) ice for the shaker and glass

Cocktail

  • 2 oz. (60 ml) silver tequila
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) dill pickle juice/brine
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) triple sec
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. (15 ml) simple syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass: Rub the pickle spear along half of the rim of your glass to moisten it.
  2. Rim the Glass: Pour the Tajín seasoning onto a small plate. Dip the moistened edge of the glass into the Tajín to coat the rim evenly.
  3. Add Ice and Garnish: Fill the glass with ice cubes and place the pickle spear inside the glass as a garnish.
  4. Mix the Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, add ice, then pour in the silver tequila, dill pickle juice, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.
  5. Shake: Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously until the mixture is well chilled.
  6. Strain and Serve: Strain the margarita into your prepared glass with the Tajín rim and pickle spear garnish. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Homemade Simple Syrup – Combine 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar and 1 cup (240 ml) water in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves, then cool. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 month.
  • Make-Ahead Tip – Pre-squeeze lime juice and prepare simple syrup ahead of time to save time during cocktail assembly.
  • Don’t Pre-Mix – Shake each drink fresh to keep it cold and undiluted.
  • Substitute for Tajín – If Tajín seasoning is unavailable, use kosher salt or a chili-salt combination as an alternative for rimming the glass.
  • Nutrition assumes 25% sugar absorption from shaking and straining the simple syrup into the cocktail.
