Description

A simple and flavorful Crockpot BBQ Little Smokies recipe featuring smoky, sweet, and tangy sauce slow-cooked to perfection. Perfect as an appetizer or snack for parties and gatherings with minimal prep time and effortless cooking.

Ingredients

Scale

Sauce

  • 2 cups tomato ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup onion, minced

Meat

  • 2 13-ounce packages Little Smokies

Garnish

  • Green onions for garnish, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce: In the crockpot, combine the tomato ketchup, liquid smoke, brown sugar, and minced onion. Stir well to blend the ingredients into a smooth sauce.
  2. Add the Little Smokies: Place the Little Smokies into the crockpot with the sauce. Stir thoroughly until all sausages are evenly coated with the BBQ sauce.
  3. Cook: Cover the crockpot with its lid. Cook on high heat for 2 hours or on low heat for 3 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the sausages to heat through completely.
  4. Serve: Switch the crockpot to the warm setting to keep the Little Smokies hot. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired, and serve directly from the crockpot or transfer to a serving bowl.

Notes

  • Adult or kid-friendly by adjusting the level of liquid smoke used.
  • Can substitute liquid smoke with soy sauce for a different flavor profile.
  • Use frozen Little Smokies, no need to thaw before cooking.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the microwave or crockpot.
  • For added texture, sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro or parsley as garnish instead of green onions.
