Description

These Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed Wonton Bites are irresistibly crispy on the outside with a creamy, sweet cheesecake and strawberry filling inside. Perfect as an indulgent appetizer or dessert, they’re served warm with whipped cream and fresh strawberries for an extra fruity touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheesecake Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup strawberry jam or preserves
  • Fresh strawberries, diced (optional)

Wontons

  • 2024 wonton wrappers
  • Water, for sealing the edges
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For Serving

  • Whipped cream
  • Extra strawberry jam or sauce
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cheesecake Filling: In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Optionally, mix in a few diced strawberries or add a small dollop of strawberry jam in the center of each filling portion.
  2. Fill Wontons: Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake filling into the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold over to form a triangle or envelope, and press firmly to seal, removing any air bubbles.
  3. Repeat Filling: Continue filling and sealing the remaining wonton wrappers with the cheesecake mixture.
  4. Heat Oil: In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry Wontons: Fry the wontons in batches for about 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan to maintain temperature.
  6. Drain Excess Oil: Remove fried wontons with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve: Serve the wontons warm with whipped cream, extra strawberry jam or sauce for dipping, and fresh sliced strawberries on the side.

Notes

  • Do not overfill the wontons to prevent them from bursting during frying.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the filling by adding more or less powdered sugar according to taste.
  • Wonton bites can be made ahead and frozen; fry them directly from frozen when ready to serve.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain the oil temperature at 350°F for optimal crispiness.
