Description

Cowboy Butter Garlic Bread is a deliciously cheesy and buttery twist on classic garlic bread, featuring a flavorful cowboy butter spread, melted mozzarella, and parmesan cheese, perfect as an appetizer or side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Butter Spread

  • 1 cup cowboy butter, softened, divided

Bread and Cheese

  • 1 Italian loaf, cut in half horizontally
  • 2 cups (226 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) parmesan cheese, shredded, divided

Seasoning and Garnish

  • Salt, to taste
  • Parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside to prepare for baking.
  2. Spread butter: Evenly spread cowboy butter over each cut side of the Italian loaf, using about ½ cup of butter per half to ensure a rich flavor.
  3. Add cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the buttered sides of the bread, then top with the shredded parmesan cheese to create a cheesy layer.
  4. Bake bread: Place the bread halves on the lined baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and lightly golden brown.
  5. Slice and garnish: Remove from the oven and slice the bread into 12 portions or your desired number of servings. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving for added color and freshness.

Notes

  • For air fryer instructions, place the prepared bread halves in the air fryer basket cut to fit and air fry at 350°F for 4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  • You can substitute Italian loaf with French bread or sourdough for different textures but keep the size similar for even cooking.
  • If cowboy butter is not available, mix softened butter with garlic powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of cayenne for a similar flavor.
  • To make the bread extra crispy, broil for 1-2 minutes after baking but watch closely to prevent burning.
