Description

This Cinnamon Bread Recipe features soft, buttery loaves infused with a rich cinnamon sugar coating and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. Using frozen Rhodes Bake-N-Serve bread dough makes it easy to prepare a delicious homemade bread with a tender crumb and sweet, spiced flavor perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread and Coating

  • 3 loaves frozen bread dough, Rhodes Bake-N-Serve
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup ground cinnamon

Glaze

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Thaw the dough: Place frozen loaves on a tray and thaw at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours, or thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
  2. Prepare pans: Spray 9-inch bread pans with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  3. Score the dough: Cut 4 deep cuts nearly all the way through each loaf, leaving a small piece connected at the bottom.
  4. Butter the bread: Coat each loaf completely with melted butter, making sure to get inside each cut thoroughly.
  5. Apply cinnamon sugar: Mix sugar and cinnamon in a wide dish, then roll each bread loaf gently in the mixture, creating a thick coat and stuffing each cut with plenty of cinnamon sugar.
  6. Let the bread rise: Place each loaf into prepared pans, cover with a light tea towel, and allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the bread is rising.
  8. Bake the bread: Bake the loaves for 25 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Cool slightly: Remove bread from oven and cool for about 10 minutes.
  10. Prepare the glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons milk until smooth. Add more milk as needed to reach desired consistency.
  11. Glaze and serve: Drizzle the icing over the warm bread before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers at room temperature wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or foil in an airtight container to keep fresh for up to 3 days.
  • You can assemble the bread fully (making slits, buttering, and coating with cinnamon sugar) and refrigerate overnight before baking the next day; just allow it to rise at room temperature before baking.
  • Make sure to coat inside the cuts well with butter and cinnamon sugar for maximum flavor.
  • Use a light tea towel to cover the dough during rising to prevent drying while allowing the bread to breathe.
