Instructions
- Prepare candy decorations: Coarsely crush the candy using the back of a large spoon or ladle. Separate into individual bowls and set aside.
- Prepare work area: Cover a baking pan and your work surface with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup and set aside.
- Melt the chocolate: Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe dish and heat for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue heating in 15-second increments, stirring after each until chocolate is fully melted with a thin consistency.
- Dip pretzels: Pour melted chocolate into a Pyrex measuring container or coffee mug for easy dipping. Dip each pretzel rod into the chocolate, turning to cover all sides. Use the back of a spoon to spread chocolate evenly if needed, then tap off excess chocolate.
- Add candy decorations: Hold the dipped pretzel by the end without chocolate and sprinkle crushed candy over it, turning the pretzel to cover all sides evenly. If using candy eyes, gently press them onto the chocolate-covered pretzel during this process.
- Set pretzels: Place decorated pretzels on the prepared baking pan and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour or until chocolate sets.
- Store: Once set, store pretzel rods in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
