Description

These Boo Halloween Dessert Cups are a spooky, delicious treat perfect for Halloween parties. Layers of moist chocolate cake, creamy chocolate pudding, and fluffy whipped cream are topped with adorable ghost Peeps and candy bloody bones for a festive and fun dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Cake and Pudding

  • 600 g chocolate cake (2 store-bought loaf cakes, broken into pieces)
  • 3 boxes (113 g each) chocolate instant pudding mix

Whipped Cream

  • ½ litre whipping cream
  • ½ teaspoon green food coloring

Decorations

  • 12 ghost Peeps (6 per box)
  • Candy bloody bones for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cake Base: Break up the chocolate cake into small pieces and add a layer to the bottom of each dessert cup.
  2. First Pudding Layer: Prepare the chocolate instant pudding according to the package instructions and spoon a layer over the cake in each cup.
  3. Second Cake Layer: Add another layer of broken chocolate cake on top of the pudding layer in each cup.
  4. Final Pudding Layer: Top with a final layer of chocolate pudding, smoothing it out evenly.
  5. Whipped Cream Topping: Whip the cream with green food coloring until fluffy, then add a small dollop on top of the pudding layer in each cup.
  6. Decorate Ghosts: Use an edible marker to draw eyes and a mouth on each ghost Peep, focusing on their eyes and nose.
  7. Assemble Dessert Cups: Place one ghost Peep in the center of each cup, sprinkle some cake crumbs over the top to resemble dirt, and garnish with candy bloody bones.
  8. Repeat: Repeat the layering and decorating steps for all 12 dessert cups.

Notes

  • Use store-bought chocolate loaf cakes for convenience and consistent texture.
  • Prepare pudding according to directions on the box to ensure proper consistency.
  • Food coloring can be adjusted to your preferred shade for the whipped cream topping.
  • Edible markers can be found at baking supply stores or online for decorating Peeps.
  • Serve chilled for best flavor and texture; refrigerate the cups for at least 1 hour before serving.
