Description

Boo Bark is a festive Halloween chocolate bark made by swirling smooth semi-sweet and white chocolates together and decorating with spooky Halloween candies. This easy no-bake treat is perfect for parties and seasonal celebrations, delivering a fun combination of creamy chocolate and colorful candy pieces.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate

  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate bars, coarsely chopped
  • 8 ounces white chocolate bars, coarsely chopped

Decorations

  • Festive Halloween candy such as eyeball sprinkles
  • Halloween sprinkles
  • Halloween M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.
  2. Melt semi-sweet chocolate: Melt the coarsely chopped semi-sweet chocolate in a double boiler or the microwave. If using a microwave, melt in 20 second increments, stirring after each until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Melt white chocolate: Repeat the melting process with the white chocolate, ensuring it becomes smooth and fully melted.
  4. Assemble bark: Pour the melted semi-sweet chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread into an 8×12 inch rectangle. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the top. Using a knife or toothpick, swirl the two chocolates together to create a marbled effect.
  5. Decorate: Sprinkle the surface generously with festive Halloween candies like eyeball sprinkles, Halloween sprinkles, and Halloween M&Ms.
  6. Set chocolate: Allow the bark to set uncovered at room temperature or place in the refrigerator for about 45 minutes until completely hardened.
  7. Break and store: Break the hardened bark into pieces of your desired size. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Freezing Instructions: Freeze the bark for up to 2 months for longer storage; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
  • Chocolate: Use pure chocolate bars instead of chips or morsels for best melting and flavor. Recommended brands include Ghirardelli, Baker’s, Lindt, or Trader Joe’s 4-ounce bars.
  • Candy Decorations: Use any Halloween-themed candies you prefer. Candy corn also makes a great addition!
  • Melting Tips: Stir frequently when melting chocolate in the microwave to prevent burning and ensure smooth texture.
