Description

Delicious and spicy Air Fryer Bang Bang Salmon Bites made with tender salmon chunks coated in a flavorful blend of spices and drizzled with creamy, sweet, and spicy Bang Bang sauce. Perfect for a quick and impressive appetizer or main course.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon, about 4 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch bites
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1 cup (232 g) mayonnaise
  • ½ cup (132 g) Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha, or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F to ensure it reaches the right temperature before cooking the salmon bites.
  2. Season the salmon by combining olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Add the salmon bites and toss gently to coat all pieces evenly.
  3. Prepare the Bang Bang sauce by mixing mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey in a separate bowl until well combined.
  4. Divide the sauce by pouring half into a separate bowl and reserving it for after the salmon is cooked. Toss the salmon bites in the remaining sauce to coat them before air frying.
  5. Cook the salmon bites in batches by placing them in an even layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Air fry for 5 minutes, then flip the bites and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 140-145°F.
  6. Serve by transferring the cooked salmon bites to a plate, drizzling with the reserved Bang Bang sauce, and garnishing with chopped chives for a fresh and colorful finish.

Notes

  • If you prefer oven cooking, preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place seasoned salmon cubes on the baking sheet without adding Bang Bang sauce before baking to avoid burning the sauce.
  • Bake for 16 minutes, flipping halfway, until salmon reaches 145°F internal temperature.
  • After baking, toss salmon bites in Bang Bang sauce and garnish with chives before serving.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crisp texture.
  • Adjust Sriracha quantity according to your desired spice level.
