Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 1 ½ pounds salmon, about 4 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch bites
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Bang Bang Sauce
- 1 cup (232 g) mayonnaise
- ½ cup (132 g) Thai sweet chili sauce
- 2 teaspoons Sriracha, or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons honey
- chives, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F to ensure it reaches the right temperature before cooking the salmon bites.
- Season the salmon by combining olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Add the salmon bites and toss gently to coat all pieces evenly.
- Prepare the Bang Bang sauce by mixing mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey in a separate bowl until well combined.
- Divide the sauce by pouring half into a separate bowl and reserving it for after the salmon is cooked. Toss the salmon bites in the remaining sauce to coat them before air frying.
- Cook the salmon bites in batches by placing them in an even layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Air fry for 5 minutes, then flip the bites and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 140-145°F.
- Serve by transferring the cooked salmon bites to a plate, drizzling with the reserved Bang Bang sauce, and garnishing with chopped chives for a fresh and colorful finish.
Notes
- If you prefer oven cooking, preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place seasoned salmon cubes on the baking sheet without adding Bang Bang sauce before baking to avoid burning the sauce.
- Bake for 16 minutes, flipping halfway, until salmon reaches 145°F internal temperature.
- After baking, toss salmon bites in Bang Bang sauce and garnish with chives before serving.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crisp texture.
- Adjust Sriracha quantity according to your desired spice level.
